Har Maala is a Gurbani recitation, reading, and counting app. This policy explains how the app handles your information.
No account and no cloud
- No account or login is required to use the app.
- No cloud sync is used.
- Your recitation progress, history, targets, favourites, settings, reminders, and custom Paath/texts are stored locally on your device.
Permissions
- Internet is used only for the optional BaniDB content search, import, and update feature.
- Notifications are used only for reminders, and only if you choose to enable them.
What the app does not do
- The app does not sell user data.
- The app does not include ads.
- The app does not intentionally collect personal information.
Feedback by email
If you choose to send feedback by email, the content of your message and your email address will be received through normal email communication so we can read and reply to it.
Gurbani content source
Gurbani content and metadata for the optional content search, import, and update feature are sourced from BaniDB by Khalis Foundation. BaniDB / Khalis Foundation is a Gurbani content and data source — it is not a collector of your in-app practice data.
Data deletion
You can reset app data and counts from inside the app where supported. You can also uninstall the app to remove its local app data from your device.
Family-friendly
Har Maala is a devotional and educational app. It does not require an account and does not use targeted advertising.

Har Maala is a Gurbani recitation, reading, and counting app made to support your personal devotional practice. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. Please read them with the same sincerity the app is offered in.
Acceptance
By installing or using Har Maala, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.
Your licence to use the app
- Har Maala is provided free of charge for personal, non-commercial devotional and educational use.
- You may use it on your own devices for Naam, Bani, and Shabad practice.
- You may not sell, sublicense, or commercially redistribute the app, and you may not copy or reverse-engineer it except where the law expressly allows.
Beta software
Har Maala is being prepared for beta release and is still evolving. Features may change, and occasional issues are possible. The app is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
Gurbani content & respect
- Gurbani is sacred. Please use the app, and any device it runs on, with due respect and cleanliness.
- Optional Gurbani content, search, and updates are sourced from BaniDB by Khalis Foundation. While we aim for accuracy, please verify from authentic printed sources for any critical use.
- The app is a tool to aid practice and counting; it is not a replacement for guidance from Gursikhs or an authentic Saroop.
Content you add
- Any custom Paath or text you add is your responsibility and is stored locally on your device.
- Please ensure you have the right to use any text you import, and that it is handled respectfully.
Acceptable use
- Use the app lawfully and for its intended devotional and educational purpose.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, tamper with, or misuse the app or its content.
- Do not use the app in any way that disrespects Gurbani or the Sikh faith.
Intellectual property
The Har Maala name, design, and the app itself are the work of Pixelborne. Gurbani itself is sacred and belongs to the Sangat; Gurbani content and metadata remain the domain of their respective sources, including BaniDB / Khalis Foundation.
No warranty
The app is provided without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Pixelborne is not liable for any indirect or incidental loss arising from your use of the app. Your practice data is stored locally, so please keep your device backed up if it matters to you.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the app develops. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
